The Education Partnership Group (EPG), a division of Steward House publishers, specializes in the publishing of anthologies of student writing for public and private high schools nationwide.
A Steward House anthology can be a key fundraiser for your school, raising money to support any program, club, or event that is in need of financial support. Steward House will ship copies of the anthology to your school at a 40% discount to the book's cover price. If students collect orders from their friends, their family, and community members, the number of books sold could provide hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars that your school can directly target at areas of need.
For example, if your school anthology's cover price is $16.95, your school will profit $6.78 from every book sold. Selling only 150 copies of the anthology would net your school $1,017.00. And we believe your school can sell substantially more than 150 copies, both because people will be glad to participate in a fundraiser when they hear what vital program or club they're supporting, and because they will be impressed at the high quality of the anthology.
Steward House believes there are many reasons for schools to publish their students' writing (independent of the fundraising opportunities our anthologies provide). Education research over the last decade has often pointed to the benefits experienced by young writers who are writing for an audience. A professional anthology would not only spotlight your students' achievement in writing, but would encourage more serious attention to writing in the future. If appearing in your school's anthology became a mark of real pride for a student, we are confident that your students would devote time to revising and improving their work to meet the standards you set for inclusion.
Also, the encouragement some teenagers have received from early publication proved the key to their future:
